Re: 10 Best Programs
What are the 10 beast AROS "programs"? I guess I should use the term "apps" instead these days, ey? ;) It can be games, productivity, development tools, whatever. No restrictions. What do you think?

Re: Which theme?
@serk118uk: LOL. Scraping the blood from underneath the fingernails just a little further :-D But, it's a nice theme. It just needs some (more) polishing.

Re: Which theme?
Nice subject :) Well. I am not so theme minded. for example the first thing i do on a new windows install is remove themes so all is back to normal :D On aros things are ofcourse a bit different. But i am mostly like you, going with the default theme. Meaning ice for nightly and icaros_blue for icaros. It all has to do with me installing so many versions of aros that i can't be bothered changing it. The theme i love most atm is the mos-theme. I have no idea why. Perhaps because (it seems to me) it resembles a mix between classic amiga and windows. As of what i would like to see... uhm.. well actually i have no idea. Maybe ... a geos theme ? :D

Re: I got a job!
I started as a trainee at WalMart yesterday. Tomorrow I'll be a full-time truck unloader. Hopefully the benefits package will help a lot.

Re: I got a job!
Fog of Obamanomics is right. I don't qualify for South Dakota's version of the high-risk pool gov't insurance policy because the state's program only supports a list of about 20 illnesses and schizphrenia is not one of them.

Yes, I'm still in Pierre, SD. I'm not sure how much longer this will last. I like living in my own apartment but if I can't afford rent... I may just end up moving back in with my parents.

Re: I got a job!
@SamuraiCrow Are you still in South Dakota? I heard the job picture is pretty good there. Although, when I think of IT, I think of Boston or Austin, Seattle or Sunnyvale. Regardless, hope you're enjoying the weather, good time for a few brew-skis. Good luck!

Re: New Article on Binarydoodles Blog
I just posted a new article on the Binarydoodles blog: AROS: What is the state of Developing tools for middle and advanced Users? In this article i try to make a list of what RAD tools an middle and advanced user have available in order to utilize AROS for developing applications without going on the C/C++ hard route. I want here to thank Fabio "Allanon" Falcucci and Dave "Misterdave" Webster for their cooperation on writing this article. Feel free to comment and post feedback, corrections and additions on the blog. Saimon69

Re: Games area
One thing to consider in the future is an AROS Games dedicated forum. I'm not saying another site. I'm saying using one of the existing portals for that purpose. Either AROS-EXEC or AROSWORLD.ORG - naturally the goal was always that the first would more a place of gathering for developers and development issues on the long run, and the later more for users, so possibly the later.
Seems like most users prefer Aros-exec, so they can bug the developers for features ;) ArosWorld has become more of a backup site than a user site. Although lately ArosWorld has become a good place for the latest news... thanx magorium :) I would like to see a games forum here, but really there are only about 30 members. I have also suggested a games forum to 4play at Aros-exec and he said he would consider it. Imo, the best place for a dedicated games forum is the new Aros playground. (great job, btw)
I didn't respond at that time (sorry cavemann) because personally i'm rather new to the game (phun intended).
Any general waits for the best time to fire the artillery :D
I have personally no idea if something like i mentioned (even when in a simple form/early stage and not adding too much features) is possible for sites like ae or aw.
I think its possible, any volunteers ;) More thoughts: Since aros is getting some complex games, I think its important that a games database provide links to the game and to any external files required. Besides users ratings and highscores, every game should also have a place for some short user comments, for example: user a - Does not work on my Acer. user b - Good graphics but gameplay sux. user c - My kids luv it. And for fun, maybe a complete gaming site would have polls and contests too. For example a xamos game progamming contest :D
