@deadwood -

4) @amigamia, @Jeff1138 - my list shows that you both have Dell Wyse 7010. Have you been able to test the latest versions (D07, RC1) on this machine?

Just checking back. Have you been able to test this machine over holidays?

Hi,

Yes D01 and patch (is that the right one https://axrt.org/...-P01.zip?) work so far from usb boot only, about to try out the newly compiled owb

Sorry, tested wrong one. Did D07 and RC1 get into AROS ONE 2.3 version which I have on the 7010 or do I still need to test?

Great, thanks. Can you also try installation?

Is audio and network supported? I assume VESA for Gfx? How about disk? ata.device or ahci.device?

Hi,

Seems I did the wrong version, see previous. I take it you want me to try to install D01 with new C?

Best to test the latest official release. I think AROS One 2.3 is based on it.

Thanks. About AUDIO: the hardware does not have jacks to connect external speakers or the sound is not passed to those jacks?

Hi,

Has one jack for audio out but nothing from it and another for microphone (not tested)

No audio from displayport (was not expecting that)

Some good news:

With the upcoming release, two more motherboards will be added to list of recommended hardware:

Gigabyte GA-MA770T UD3/UD3P
ASUS P8Z68-V LX

Especially the ASUS motherboard is interesting. 2011-level hardware, graphical BIOS, SATA and DDR3 support.

Thanks to @retrofaza for finding and testing the ASUS board.

@deadwood, I hate to be the negative voice but I disagree. I despise that HCL you link, its super unhelpful, out of date and lists pages of untested hardware so it reads like a shopping list of items that DO need to be tested

I come to AROS again looking to see what works by way of hardware and finding the same old (IMHO, garbage,) HCL.

I want to know what GPUs work (from memory AMD was never 100% as 2D and 3D didnt work on same cards, Nvidia up to Fermi worked properly, rest was unknown) but a simpler document which showed that would be helpful.

Same with Sound cards/chipsets.

Does AROS work with UEFI now? AHCI?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the idea of AROS but the experience of finding out what hardware would work (without just buying and trying) isn't good :-(

Anyway, I scored a free mobo that I believe was compatible years ago so now just GPU to check. I so wish that Kepler GPUs were supported rather than VESA mode only, but I cannot find any info on that!

At the very beginning of the list you have just what Recommended hardware is for, so you don't have to buy blind and test. You have several boards that we have tested and they definitely work. They are not expensive.
