1 year agoSMB2 has a su GUI developed in Hollywood to generate the mountlist and mount, I also created scripts to unmount and restart, Windows after 15 minutes disables the shares, and then you have to unmount and then restart (remount).

1 year agoSMB0 created by Network prefs, is mounted too early by "Env-Archive/AROSTCP/ServerAutoMounts", the mount fails because it happens before the system makes the connection. For proper mounting, you must mount SMB0 after the connection has occurred.
Also, SMB0 I suspect is not using a correct filesystem, see screenshot !
In the screenshot you can see the difference between SMB0 and SMB2, in the Shell you cannot ascertain to SMB0, files have cut off names and icons are not shown correctly.
In contrast with SMB2 from the Shell you can access the volume and the icons are assigned correctly
This happens with WMware I have not tested on real PC !

Ok, I understand the difference.
At the moment I'm not inclided to change Network prefs to support SMB2. First SMB2 would have to be included into AROS build so that it is available on all architectures. In future this may happen and then we can re-open discussion about changing Network prefs to support it.

1 year agoDOSBox 0.74 now works fine, no crashes
Interesting fact, if DOSBox is used by RunInDOSBox, no CLI appears on the Wandererer !
Example, if I run an MS-DOS game executable "associated with RunInDOSBox", the DOSBox GUI runs the game without showing any CLI (see video)

I'd guess that RunInDOSBox redirects standard output to NIL:
Thanks for testing.

1 year agoProbably RunInDOSBox does it inside sel its Executable !
On DOSBox I tried adding in the icon ToolTypes the parameter WINDOW=NIL: but it doesn't seem to work.
However, it's still okay, important that it works

If you want I can attach them all to you

Possibly you can send him the catalogs via mail. Best check with him.
