AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress

Created two scripts that allow you to disable or enable TrackDisk and NTFS Filesystem. The scripts will be present on both AROS 0ne 64-bit and 32-bit.

Some laptops no longer support floppy drives, and AROS may not start or Dopus4 may not work.
The Disable button will remove TrackDisk.device from the DEVS system folder.
The Enable command will do the opposite, i.e. restore TrackDisk.device to Devs.

The NTFS file system may be necessary to share data from an NTFS-formatted hard disk.
The Enable button will make a simple copy of the ‘ntfs-handler’ file in the L folder and enable the use of the NTFS file system. The Disable will do the exact opposite, i.e. it will remove the ‘ntfs-handler’ file from the L folder.

I would like to point out that on AROS One 32Bit in Storage/NTFS there is also ‘ntfs3g-handler’ which, compared to ‘ntfs-handler’, allows not only reading but also writing to an NTFS-formatted hard disk.Be careful when using ‘ntfs3g-handler’ because it could allow you to delete files from Windows systems if you are using Dual-Boot with Windows systems.

The sources for ‘ntfs3g-handler’ exist, but I have not been able to convert it to 64-bit. I hope that the author will also compile the 64-bit AROS version in the next update.

Fixed the ‘ArosOne-Angled’ and ‘ArosOne-BlueWave’ themes that had a problem with the window bar text, which was shifted too far to the left, almost to the edge, see screenshot. Now the text is in the correct position.

If you encounter any other problems with any theme, please report them in this post and I will try to fix them.

All 38 AROS One 64/32/68k themes have been modified. Now, the AROS One text on the top bar of Wanderer (Titlebar) is no longer text, but a PNG image positioned by (SBarLogo) on the left side of the bar. The title (TitleOffset) has also been moved forward to make room for the logo.

Now, with any video resolution, the AROS One logo (SBarLogo) and (Titlebar) will always remain in the same place, see screenshot

If you notice any imperfections in any theme, please report them!

Given the poor visibility, I replaced the “Busy” pointers with new ones. They are now clearly visible and available in multiple colors depending on the pointer chosen! It's a shame that animated GIFs are not supported on AROS.

What you see in the screenshot are the Normal/Busy Pointers that you will find in the next AROS One. Some lower quality ones have been removed and many others are my new creations.

If anyone likes a particular Pointer, I can attach a screenshot here and I will try to create it for AROS.

In the other screenshot, you can see the new Native Vmware Video Driver that works on QEmu!

Netgear Dongle W111v3 successfully tested with the Driver Realtek8180.device, it now works fine on AROS One v1.2 64-bit.

After manually configuring and saving my home network settings, WirelessManager immediately appeared on my desktop and the network was immediately available.

Created some PDF documents multilanguage named ‘Vim Cheat Sheet’ in the VIM folder." concise reference guide summarising key information, commands or formulas for quick access, useful for users who are less familiar with this powerful Editor, see screenshot.

Given the minor imperfections in the new Zune Prefs features that allow you to round buttons and frames, I have created preference scripts so that users can choose whether to use the ‘rounded’ or classic ‘rectangular’ skins with a simple click, see screenshot

Zune Prefs with rounded frames are now also available on AROS One 32bit, but here too there are some minor imperfections.

On AROS 64bit, they can be seen on the curvature of the white dots, while on AROS 32bit, grey smudges can be seen in the curvatures.

I am preparing the new updated version of AROS One 32Bit, which will be released in the next few hours and will have all the configurations created on 64Bit, all the new software and updates released.

@deadwood

On .amiga-news.de, a user reported a compatibility issue with AROS One 64bit and VirtualBox. Basically, on an ‘AMD Ryzen 9’ PC, a message appears indicating that the system is not compatible with x86-64!

I remember Kalamatee was making some fixes for 64-bit detection in Ryzen CPUs and that's already integrated in the nightly so should be out in next update.

Hi,

Not sure if this was advised or fixed before but I found that the AmiFox entry in SYS: Prefs/Env-Archive/,iconbar.prefs needed a little change

from SYS:Extras/ to Extras:

Jeff, SYS:Extras or Extras: it's the same thing, practically nothing changes!

Hi,

Except if you have two partitions and Extras: is on DH1: Does SYS:Extras still work?

If you have Extras in DH1, you are correct, but if you look at the ‘original’ Extras startup-sequence: it is assigned to SYS:Extras

Assign EXISTS "Extras:" >NIL:
If WARN
 If EXISTS "$EXTRASPATH"
 Assign "Extras:" "$EXTRASPATH"
 Else
 Assign "Extras:" "SYS:Extras" >NIL:
 If WARN
 Assign "Extras:" "NIL:" >NIL:
EndIf
