Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and I thought I might take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am 42 years old and from Australia. My Amiga journey began long ago in my youth, when several of my friends had an Amiga 500, although I was never fortunate enough to own one myself until very recently. A few years ago I discovered the FS-UAE emulator and my continuing rediscovery of the Amiga led me to acquire some pieces of vintage hardware.

I have been using vintage 68K Amigas for a couple of years now, but I recently became curious as to whether there was any continuing development on the Amiga operating system. When I found out that there was an open source project to continue development I decided to have a bit more of a look.

I have recently installed AROS One on a USB stick and have it running on an Acer Veriton 6610 desktop from 2011. Things are mostly working fine, except for the network adapter, which is an Intel 82579LM. I have a Realtek 8169 card on order, at minimal cost, which I expect will fix things. I am very impressed with the operating system so far and I think it's great that this has been made available. It boots very quickly and it is nice not having to sign in. It is also a relief not to have to deal with Linux's permissions system once in a while.

I am looking forward to using the system a bit more and possibly contributing to the development in any way I can. I have done quite a bit of AMOS programming on my Amiga 2000 and am continuing my learning journey in the C language at the moment, although if there were any areas where the documentation could be improved I might be able to help with that as well.

Looking forward to chatting with some of you soon,

Hi uncle_chopstick, thanks for testing my AROS One distribution, regarding the Network if you still encounter incompatibilities, you can take advantage of the USB connection with your mobile phone via Tethering, this function is usually compatible with all mobile phone models.
