BTW, if you install AROS-Shell for AxRuntime you can from shell try running some of your re-compiled programs directly under Linux (the same way as Odyssey is being run).

OK, with AROS One v11 hosted I checked all my v11 compilations posted on arosarchive, and they all seem to work fine, probably with 'Bad Apple' something went wrong during compilation!

Perfect Shell works fine, I ran from the About AROS One Shell compiled on WMware with AROS One 64Bit v11, see screenshot

Only problem is how to assign the C and S folder!

Also, if I copy the contents of the C folder into the Shell path, all the commands work, the CD command, I think resident, only works if there are C commands in the Shell path, but it does not allow me to access inside a folder.

In the S directory you have a Package-Startup script. This script is executed each time you start a program (in this case AROS-Shell). In that script you can add your assign for C. Here is how I have it

Assign "C:" "WORK:Applications/AROS-Shell/C" ADD

Additionally please remember that you have SYS: and Work: mapped to directories SYS and Work in your linux home directory. It works like in AROS. If you don't want to add a C assign like I listed above, copy the commants to SYS:C. See the attached screenshot.

deadwood I tried to compile some demos on AROS v11 Hosted, but unfortunately I get an error, see screenshot.

This is very strange, because with the same and identical Develpment folder, with native AROS v11 on WMware the compilation of the same sources is successful, no error!

Also noted that on AROS Hosted Linux it is not possible to rename the Volume!

What does it say when you do

g++ --version

from Shell.

g++ --version works fine, see screenshot, I had already done this test that's why I said strange error!

The same error on both Build and AROS One !

I'm not really sure what is going on - I'd have to debug it.

If it helps, if I run the simple g++ command with the .cc source files I get this message, see screnshot

This means that either you have binaries missing or something is not right with paths. Did you create you setup by extracting release of base system and then adding on top of it extracted release of contrib?

cc1plus should be in:

Development/libexec/gcc/x86_64-aros/6.5.0

cc1plus is in the path Development/libexec/gcc/x86_64-aros/6.5.0, see screenshot, I had already done this check

In addition, from AROS Host Linux I moved the "Development" folder back to AROS One 64 v11 Native on VMware and the compilation was successful without errors.

I will now try to do a clean installation of AROS Hosted Linux, and add the Development from Contrib !

Is Development: assign properly ponting to SystemGrinevelopment in your hosted installation?
AMIGASYSTEMAMIGASYSTEMDistro Maintainer

If you are referring to the Development/S/Package-Startup file.

By default the assigned volume is SYS:Development, or even renamed to System:Development, but nothing changes

The Env-ArchiveSYS/Packages/Development also uses the SYS:Development volume

EDIT

Did a clean installation of AROS Hosted Linux, the problem is still present

Where can I download this "Blobs" you are trying to compile?
AMIGASYSTEMAMIGASYSTEMDistro Maintainer

Blod and other nice demos for AROS I have downloaded from the attached link, the problem should also be found on other demos on this site.

All demos and source on this site are also available in previous versions of AROS One!

Compiling blobs worked for me. See attached.

I took AROS-20241102-1-linux-x86_64-system.tar.bz2 and unpacked. Then AROS-20241102-1-any-x86_64-contrib.tar.bz2 and unpacked. Then copied contents of AROS-20241102-1-any-x86_64-contrib over AROS-20241102-1-linux-x86_64-system overwritting files when requested.

If it helps, I tried running AROS from Terminal, an error appeared there too, see screenshot
