Hi guys
I'm trying to test latest owb, maybe I'm doing something wrong, I've to do something before running it?
On my hosted (the one I use to test the ports) it will just crash if launched as-is

Thanks. Hopefully you will be able to use Odyssey on this hardware.

@Deremon

Here is a tutorial on how to setup hosted for Odyssey. It's for 64-bit, but it should be mirrored for 32-bit:

https://arosnews.github.io/OWB-aros-linux-hosted/

There are also some library updates that you need. Check the owb/i386 directory on server for them.

If that does not help, please share what kind of crash you are getting.

I ran tests of the 32 bit version of OWB on two motherboards from the recommended hardware list.

It is worth adding that the ASUS P8Z68V LX is sufficient hardware for everyday comfortable work with Linux. I installed AROS hosted 64 bit and AxRT on it and have also included the results in the table.

Hi all,

I have been unlucky with new version of OWB,.

I bought 2gb ram if more ram needed and 2gb ram arrived today and no luck.

I am running latest aros one on acer aspire one d255 and I used to watch YouTube if I clicked on directly linked YouTube videos on Google search.

With latest updates it's just loads video than freezes or locked my aros without any errors or guru.

https://youtu.be/WmTCVipCbYs?si=I8s-scZSE29YOaNe

See the linked video , loads than stays as it is no video, no sound.

Is there debug enabled version of latest OWB?

BTW I have updated the library as deadwood linked on this thread..

Any help welcome...

I assume you copied the executable into existing OWB directory. In such case be sure to clear cache:

PROGDIR:Conf/Cache, PROGDIR:Conf/IndexedDB, PROGDIR:Conf/LocalStorage

Then just enter youtube.com, the main page, and wait for it to load all the assets and for search bar to appear. In my case it case around a minute. Does that work for you?

I have checked and mentioned folders are in right place and cleared.

I typed in youtube.com directly than loads youtube website than no clear pictures but there is gray frames (see screenshot).

If i try to reboot than it breaks out but crashes without guru.

I have waited 5 minutes just to makesure but loads than stays as it is, I can not use aros menus or move mouse , basically freezes but wakes up if I try reboot via keyboard than guru pops no info and only option is to reboot..

This behavior suggest that there is a high priority task that is busy looping. Is the "spinning" icon in right-top spinning throughout these 5 minuts or does it stop spinning at some point? What tooltypes do you have set on OWB icon?

No stops spinning after loading the resources, feels like it's getting stuck in some sort of loop,

I used owb via icon, I tried adding MSE to owb icon tooltype and still same , owb icon Stack is set to 81192000

Loads upto 11.1 mb of 11.3 mb www.youtube.com and spinning stops than freezes and lock-up entire aros os..

@deadwood

If it helps, I have no block or Guru, but if I start 'www.youtube.com' after the grey squares I get a message from YouTube (maybe too many Previews?), see screenshot !

@serk118uk

You are using AROS One 2.4 there are no latest updates, the guru may be motivated by this, try OWB 2.0 with a Live Pendrive with AROS One v.26 !

Then add the latest version of muimaster.library and stdlib.library distributed these days by deadwood

If you are indeed using older distribution, please try what AMIGASYSTEM suggested with live pendriver of newest version. Odyssey is not tested to work with anything older than 20220318-1 Update 1 + fixed libraries.

serk118uk, I had seen your AROS (DH0) and RAM icons that belong to AROS 2.4! and I thought you had installed AROS One 2.4.

I was 2.4 than 2.5 and than used updater from 2.5 to 2.6 , maybe you should double check if updater doing the job right..

The update is only from 2.5 to 2.6 ! that's why you have the old Icons introduced with AROS One 2.5

Theoretically it should still be fine, I would have to test, but if you only did the update you are missing the Core updates done on AROS One 2.5, you can see the differences between 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6 here:

Apart from trying a clean installation on pendrive to rule out problems with upgrades, the only thing that comes to my mind is problem with audio. Audio has a high priority task which if looping could cause such issues.

Are there any other pages that freeze your AROS or just YT?

Rest of the websites are fine, just youtube .

If works for most than problem could be on my side, needed libraries are updated,
