I got an SSL error when trying to load the forums,
"cant verify with ca-certificates", something like that.

I had to turn on "Ignore SSL errors" in OWB settings to write this message.

Is there a way to manually update the ca-cert file? Would one from Linux work?

I'm currently accessing forums on "current" certificates and I'm not getting SSL errors. Ideas:

1) Clock in your computer got somehow changed to a wrong date
2) Odyssey will sometimes "loose" certificates after a longer use. Just restarting Odyssey fixes the problem.

Which version of OWB are you using?

I am using v2.1 included in Aros One 32bit,
started getting that error a few days ago, worked fine before

Edit: I tried turning the setting off and now it works again,
some weird glitch I guess, fixed itself somehow.. oh well, Amiga life is full of surprises ;-)
