12 months agoDoes AROS One support floppy drives at all? I wonder if I can format and use 1,76MB floppy disk.
As long as your PC has a floppy drive AROS will support it. It supports both internal and external ( USB ) floppy drives. I use PC formatted disks. But other formats probably work with AROS.

12 months agoThe Floppy 1.76 MB is a standard Amiga Floppy HD, if formatted in OFS the space capacity will be less, with FFS there will be more disk space, on AMIGA with special Device "diskspare.device" the Floppy HD can be formatted to 1968 KB
With a PC internal Floppy or PC native USB you cannot read Amiga DD or HD Floppies, to do so you will have to mount the ADF Floppy Images via DiskImageGUI.
DiskImageGUI by default only mounts DD Floppies, to mount HD Floppies you have to edit the MountList, maybe create a New one with a different name e.g. DFHD.
The change to the DOSDriver is very simple, you have to double the value "BlocksPerTrack" see screenshot
BlocksPerTrack = 11 to BlocksPerTrack = 22
This will mount the HD ADFs whether OFS or SFS formatted, tested successfully!
If you don't want to see the other icons on Wandererer (any Amiga DD floppies or FAT PC floppies), move these DOSDrivers to Storage DOSDrivers.
