It's private for now. I want to get it into a stable state and have a huge roadmap in front of me.
I could add you if you feel like contributing?

Does your bare metal branch have a github

If you can't wait, I have started a new organisation that is called pomaros: https://github.co...
It has a new version of macaros i.e. pomaros hosted as well as an Apple VM and Qemu version...

Hey all, the test is coming in the next few days, hopefully this weekend. If you have an m1, start backing up your data and let's talk. Write me a PM

@Bohun, I have you on the list already :p

Know that we have a lot of things going on in this port:
- my File Manager Ferail we appropriate management of the aros way, like the icons that goes together with the app
- Zed is working and the bridges that I've build for the hosted version are not needed anymore
- we have the sound speakers that are working
- all the special keys from the keyboard and closing the lid
- pair your airpods using BT
- we have wifi and an web browser owb for now but chromium is coming soon...
- we have a complete GPU graphics layer with opengl and vulkan and all
- we run quake2 at 60 fps in fullscreen
and more...

Let me know if you have questions or need anything else :)

Wow, nice work
Kinda makes me want a Mac

I'm ready to test M1

Anyone with a macbook m1,2,3, that wants to test aros bare metal?

@jonx
In that case, it must be an incompatibility between the AROS code and my toolchain. Macaros is probably built on a slightly older build. I have no other ideas. It works on the Raspberry Pi. I'll wait for native AROS on Apple and test it with that ;-)

Just added it

It's in your inbox normally
You have to add -ffixed-x18 to CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS.when building.

Do I have to vote to see the results? I don't want to lie, so a 'No' option would be helpful

I've prepared a new toolchain for aarch64 with x18 registry protection, but something must have gone wrong, because the compiled programs display guru. When you return from vacation, please let us know how to protect this registry when compiling programs for Macaros.

Please do. Thanks.

And for anyone interested in running things on Macaros hosted, remember, we can't run anything that uses the x18 register.

Congratulations! AROS owning the CPU at EL1 on an M1 is a real milestone. Enjoy the holiday!

On my side, I built Macaros hosted from a fresh checkout on an M5 Pro, from the toolchain to the Wanderer desktop in one afternoon, with a few stops along the way - I might send them over soon.

I also have Go programs running on AROS x86_64 and would like to bring that to AArch64 on Macaros next (figured that I will support aarch a bit more)

My Mac is an M5 Pro, but happy to give it a spin once you have something shareable.

Unbelievable! I didn't think it was possible. I'd love to test it on the M1.

Thanks but it's saying Images not found at the bottom. I posted the online.

At the bottom of post above Post Reply button you can Options and Attachement tabs. Use Attachements tabs

Hey Y'all, I made good progress lately so I wanted to post a little teaser about my progress before leaving for holidays.

Now I'm AFK until next month.

Until then... anyone interested that has an m1 or m2?
