I've changed the source file names of the website such that they have now suffix ".rst". That makes handling in development environments easier and github shows previews of REST files.

Thanks a nice feature, +1

I have changed all php files to html files. The only places where php was used was the random image on the front page and the tables with the nightly builds/snapshots. I've replaced those with javascript and iframe.

Ha. I can "like" my own postings.
OK. Versioning worked.

ChatGPT tells me to use versioning (e.g. aros.css?v1.0) to bust the caches.

aros.css is different in domains:
https://aros.sour...
http://aros.org/

For example line 4:

body {
font-family: arial, verdana, helvetica, sans-serif
}

body {
font-family: arial, verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;
max-width: 80em;
margin: 1em auto;
display: grid;
gap: 0.5em;
}

https://aros.sour...o/aros.css -> 105 lines
http://aros.org//... -> 230 lines

This looks suspicious:
https://github.co...w/htaccess
I'll check this evening if changing htaccess solves it.

Yeah, I was about to ask that. One thing that comes to my mind is that there is somewere a path to http (unsecure) resource and when secure page is being loaded via https, then browser rejects loading this unsecure resource. There might be something about that in the browser console/browser developer tools.

How is this possible?
http://www.aros.org/ looks good, but
https://aros.sour... is missing the CSS layout.

LOL. The "Github Commits" section is now using the two-column grid

The attached screenshot looks quite unspectacular but it means that I'm partially done with moving aros.org to html 5.

The top menu entries are real links and no longer drawn into the image.
The left menu is <ul> with custom bullet images.
The next step is to use a grid layout instead of tables.

OK that works. Perhaps once Mazze finds where aros.org is configured, he can set port 443 autoforwarding to https://aros.sour...

(SSL) I don't know who the owner of www.aros.org is. I'll ask on the developer mailing list.

Looks good to me. Thanks for adding latest arosworld.org posts. It's good that "AROS" websites get interconnected Like

What would it take to turn on SSL? Do you have letsencypt on the hosting service?

Another milestone reached: www.aros.org now has a favicon Smile

Cough. Two humble News entries added.
http://www.aros.o...
@deadwood: most commits in 2024 were coming from you. Just tell if I have overlooked an import milestone.

I've transferred my homepage to Jekyll. That supports blogs. I couldn't resist and wrote a stunning Smile story about my recent update on AROS' web site.
