3 months agoSince .recycled exists on each partition, I have also created scripts for those who use 2 partitions (DH0 and DH1), if someone uses more than one partition they will simply have to change the volume name on the scripts.
In addition, I have created a script for both partitions which allows you to delete all files in the .recycled with one click.

3 months agoFarox thanks again, I have created 2 scripts where the user can choose to show or hide the recycled folder on Wanderer with a simple click !
I have prepared a new recompile with no new functions but i added a string displayed only when invoked without params or directly run with double click on it (see screeshot attached).
I adapted a bit the sources to save some bytes when compiled, commenting unused things, adapted the readme and package all up in a zip file where you could find the program (of course) that i stripped and the complete sources, please test it and tell me if its ok to pubblish on Archive.
Thanks

That is very cool. Nice work!
Thank you Farox for compiling it as well.

3 months agoGreat Farox! Thanks for compiling it!
SFSObject works perfectly on AROS x86, the command I used to make the Recycled hidden folder visible and permanent is this:
SFSObject SYS:.recycled UNHIDE UNDELETEABLE
Of course it can also be used for other Volumes/Parts, the command only needs to be executed once.
I have to decide whether to let the user execute it or have it executed by AROS One on first start-up.
The folder icon can be brought to the Wanderer via the classic shortcut, see screenshot
The Recycled hidden folder contains deleted files, including duplicates, and can be copied or deleted.
The PFS filesystem also has a hidden folder and is accessed with a command to make it appear and use it.

I got compiled but don't know how to use.
Maybe we need to adjust some strings inside the program...now is just for test.
Try it and let me know.
A quick try on AROS One and seems to work, i hide a directory (under the AROS live drive that is using SFS)
with SFSobject ****XX hide
Where ****XX is the directory or the file to hide (or there are other options)
To show again SFSobject ****XX show

3 months agoCould someone compile 'SFSobj' for AROS x86?
There is a 68k version on Aminet which includes the sources in "C".
SFSobject is a small command for SFS (Filesystem) that permanently displays the hidden folder "Recycled" with the last deleted files.
I tried the 68k version on AROS 68k and it works perfectly, see screnshot !
