@deadwood - New patch available:

It addresses a number of stability issues with kernel and HDAudio driver - for example sound of plugging in pen drive should no longer cause crash.

Thanks for this new update deadwood, V11 still won't start on my VirtualBox and the problems mentioned above on VMware remain, e.g. Network doesn't work, although occasionally Guru with BoingIconBar (from ISO), Guru with Protrekkr.

@mattson62 Glad to hear it's working!

@AMIGASYSTEM can you explain issues you are having on VirtualBox with starting the ISO? It seems it works for many people in VirtualBox.

@mattson62

Is sound working for you with AC97? I got reports that sound in bad in such configuration and it is better to select emulated HDAudio.

[quote name=deadwood post=7391]@deadwood - Here is the configuration I'm using.

AROS 32Bit starts fine on my VirtualBox 7.0

I only get a black screen with the AROS 64Bit, even your configuration gives me a black screen.

In your configuration I had to change the serial port settings otherwise the system boot would stop.

At which point do you get black screen? Do you see grub menu? If yes, what happens when you select the last option - safe mode.

With VirtualBox the GRUB menu works fine, then once the video mode is chosen it stops on a black screen.

But beware I use VirualBox on Windows, the others I think have tested v11 on the Linux version !

Regarding AROS 32Bit the error on the Grub that I reported to you several times after creating the ISO, I have finally discovered the cause.

To create AROS One I don't edit the ISO of the Builds, but create a new ISO with my own data, inserting the Bootloader from the Build in the creation process.

The error on the Grub was due to the fact that I was using a previous bootloader for "AROS-20241216-32D09", which instead requires the new bootloader included in the ISO "AROS-20241216-32D09".

Which exact ISO are you using?

EDIT: Also what happens when you add 'noacpi' to grub command line and boot in VESA?
