deadwood on OWB there are always problems with MUI preferences, as you can see in the video if you try to move the Zune GUI, the windows multiply, then if you try to configure screens when Save or USE is asked to enter volume ‘2’ other times ‘7’ but it can also be a different number (video attached).

I'm not sure if the request for numerical volumes is caused by Click-To-Front, but sometimes in some cases, the ‘working’ buttons are hidden on the Workbench screen, while on OWB only an image of the request buttons remains (this happens occasionally when you make many background changes).

Regarding TV Streaming, I have noticed that OWB-3.0-20250626 works well on some TV Streaming (Local TV) without any Guru (see screenshot), while Streaming on TV (National) video mode is not supported, the button searches endlessly for the video.

Its good to hear streaming works on some other sites then YT. Hopefully with more WebKit updates streaming on more sites will work.

I would add that on national TV, however, you can watch the ‘Replays of the Week’ and all the films, programmes, etc. in the catalogue.

Try enabling MSE tooltype on the icon. This should allow watching live streams.

On the ‘National TV’ stream, I added ‘MSE’ in Tooltypes and I get a Guru, see screenshot, I'm using WMware!

Interesting. I though I solved that crash already. :/

@deadwood:

- www.temu.com gives a blank page
- outlook.com says the browser is not supported (even when changing user agent)

I've been trying the last release of OWB 64 bit with the realtek8180.device driver. The system is a HP Elitebook i5 with latest nightly installed to SSD. I'm getting strange results.

Loading up AROSworld is fine, but many other websites are very slow, in fact giving timeouts. I can't load google.co.uk, or google.com at all; bbc.co.uk/news will only open after multiple page refreshes. I've tried using both DHCP and manual setting of ip addresses; same result either way. Amazon.co.uk and ebay.co.uk do load, although the latter reuqires a page refresh.

There are random hard crashes when opening sites. No error message at all, the machine just crashes to a full reboot. Annoyingly these are not reproduceable; after the reboot if the site is tried again it will open. However, I can say these crashes happened on opening hackaday.com and duckduckgo.com. On this machine using the realtek8180.device under 32 bit these problems are not seen.

To verify if this is an issue with OWB or the driver, I trid booting from USB into 64 bit on my HP 14-bw022na as this has supported wired ethernet. However, on this maching OWB will not launch at all. From the shell I get the message "file is not executable". I have double-checked this is the correct verison of owb by copying it from the HP Elitebook and confirming it will start on that machine. The processor for the HP 14... is an AMD A4-9120 Radeon R3. Aside from owb, other programs such as Zunepaint look to be working fine on it.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Edit: P.S. youtube.com and m.youtube.com will not load either.

Edit 2: I've also had several lockups (no crash, just a frozen screen requiring a reboot). Unfortunately no specific sites which causes this, it seems to be quite random.

Hmm, you are actually second person to report something like that. We tried many approaches with the first person and it was always leading to the same "file is not executable" problem on one specific hardware that person had (while other programs worked correctly). Unfortunatelly we were not able to resolve that issue Sad

Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately I've now run out of options for trying owb 3 on a 'modern' CPU aside from the Elitebook with realtek8180 driver. I suspect the problems I've seen this afternoon are due to the driver but unfortunately I can't confirm.

Cheers,
Nigel.

I have the same problems on my Acer with AROS One Native (DualCore 4GB RAM). Perhaps this problem is only on Natvive? I also tried OWB 2.1, but had the same problems. I cannot access Google, nor can I perform Google searches. See screenshot error.

Regarding ‘file is not executable’, have you checked with Dopus4 if OWB has the E flag? If it is missing, you can add it from DOpus4.

If you used ZIP to compress OWB, be aware that ZIP removes the E flag after compression.

I'm back on my 32 bit install and I can get to google, but this is through atheros5000.device - I'll try with reaktek8180 under 32 bit tomorrow. It was working a few months ago, but more recently I've installed an atheros wifi card. For owb 3, yes, the execute flag is set.

Cheers,
Nigel.

I can build for you a debug version of dos.library to see if we can figure out what's causing that "file is not an executable" issue.

Apologies if I may have mentioned this before but Odyssey has a long-standing bug on AROS that means opening a local file via shell causes a crash. This has been happening for ~10 years so it is not a new issue.

Why does this matter? If you set up local HTML documentation files to open Odyssey in order to show them, which is a common use case for a web browser, Odyssey will crash (or simply fail to load the desired content).

Hmm, the error suggest that stack is too low. If you are opening via DefIcon, you need to set 10MB stack on that DefIcon and if you are opening via some script from shell, make sure that script sets the required stack.

Posting this from 32 bit with realtek8180.device wifi; I'm finding I can access google and youtube.com (please note I do need to set ip addresses set manually to get into the wifi on 32 bit). For me the google problem looks like an issue just with 64 bit.

@AMIGASYSTEM - when you see this problem on 64 bit native, what network adapter are you using? I'm just wondering if it can be pinned down to an owb or a diver problem. Althogh there is one more vaiable; I suppose it could be an issue in AROSTCP itself.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Looks like you have the same issue as the other hardware I mentioned. Working on fix right now.

EDIT: please check the "nightly testing" thread for fixed kernel. Let's move further discussion on this issue into that thread.
