I could use this for my port of Dungeonkeeper/keeperfx (for the installation, that Music, Video and speech samples are automatically converted to the intended format during installation, as in the AmigaOS versions).
May I please second this? I use ffmpeg for processing videos I've made (either through ScreenRecorder or Hollywood video output) to upload to our college systems.
Cheers,
Nigel.
P.S. a 64 bit ScreenRecorder would be very useful too...
For speech samples i now use mad2wav to convert them during installation of keeperfx. Music and intros still have to be converted by the user „otherwise“ though.
Just tested 64 bit ffmpeg. It gives shell output but when I try to compress a video file using the -crf option (which works on 32 bit) the program says 'Unrecognized option 'crf''.

I haven't used FFmpeg much myself before, so let me know how it works—is everything that was in the 32-bit version included, or is anything still missing?

This is brilliant news; FFPlay supports a huge range of video and audio formats (it even has a GUI when configured), and it’s the default player on my AfA One (OS 3.9 BB4 + AfA OS)
What’s missing on AROS 64-bit is a fix for MPlayer (some media formats cause a Guru), or rather a port of a more recent version of MPlayer that includ
miker, sorry, I made a ty, i meant to say ‘MPlayer’, which crashes with certain media formats. Unfortunately, old age plays tricks on you like that. I’ve corrected the post!
Perfect, i have tested FFPlay and all audio and video formats are supported correctly.
Compared to the Amiga version, FFPlay is more up-to-date and has many more features, but there are issues when using it as an Icon tool; there are also some oddities when using it from the Shell, and it does not allow you to run files from paths, for example:
FFPlay Test.avi -> Works
FFPlay SYS:Test.avi -> Does not work
For this very reason, you cannot use it and it does not work as a tool in DOpus4/5
The Amiga version was probably created to be used as a tool
In this video, you can see how FFPlay works via Icona on an Amiga

It works very well; many audio and video formats are supported, including Video CDXL. FFplayer can now be used as a tool for Wandere and as a tool for Dopus4 and Dopus5.
As for videos, I’m not sure if it’s possible to centre them and keep the window at a fixed size; if the video resolution is high, the window goes off-screen.
As for audio, the window is centred and always the same size, but a graph appears that seems to be corrupted.
If you press the ‘w’ key whilst listening to music, a black-and-white spectrum will appear (the one used by default by FFPlayer AMIGA).
I have created a comprehensive video demonstrating the above (The audio is working. I haven't recorded the audio).
Thank you for bringing the new version of this important package to AROS 64-bit
As for audio playback, the first graph that appears isn’t broken—that’s how it’s supposed to look... “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature” It works the same way on Windows and Linux. Alternatively, we could swap those graphs in AROS so that the second one—the one that currently appears when you press “w”—shows by default. What do you think?
Automatic window resizing and centering—I’ll take a look at that.
