Kalamatee has been working around the clock for the past few week implementing USB3 support in Poseidon stack. You can read more here( https://arosworld...post_10287 ).
When the work is completed it will open up many of the post-2015 computers to be used by native AROS!
At this point I prepared an experimental ISO of Kalamatee's work, strickly for the purpose on testing and reporing current status.
- USB3 in VMware - you can use your pendrive to read/write data. Note: once the pendrive is inserted, there can be a 20-120 seconds "stall" when AROS is slow to respond
- USB3 in VirtualBox/QEMU - at this moment the pendrives are partially detected in Trident but cannot be used yet
When testing, you can confirm that your USB3 hardware has been at least detected by goint to Prefs/Trident and listing devices (see attached screenshot)
Really good news, Ive two systems that would be really good for AROS if just USB coud be made to work; looking forwards to trying this and the other recent developments over the Christmas break
Laptops are tricky things to get right, just make sure there is no Admin or Supervisor Password set to lock the bios as you will probably need to access to the bios to remove the frequently set Secure Boot.

There is a request from Kalamatee to provide some more information. After booting and inserting pendrive, please go to Prefs/Trident and export log by clicking "Save to disk". Please upload this log somewhere and share it (please don't use attachements here on the forums as attachements are not visible to not logged in people).

Kalamatee is making steady progress! Right now an USB pendrive is getting detected in VirtualBox and added to devices (the partitition is not yet mounted). The support should also improve under VMWare. Please test how it works on your hardware
Now, on this Christmas day, I have a big favor to ask for.
I've been following Kalamatee's work on USB3 over the last few weeks and I can tell you there is an insane about of work needed to get this working and this work needs proper recognition. Please consider donating to Kalamatee via PayPal: kalamatee@gmail.com so that Kalamatee also has a Merry Christmas!
No, these builds are only focusing on USB3 testing and no parts of them should be included in distributions. They are even more experimental/unstable/testonly than regular nightly builds.
