Quake 2 (Source by Yamagi Quake II)
The archive includes Q2Launcher and 2 binaries: quake2 (Software Rendering) and quake2gl (OpenGL Rendering).
To play, it is necessary to add the data files of the original Quake2 CD (pak0.pak) into the "Baseq2" folder."
Q2Launcher not only allows you to choose between playing via Software Rendering or OpenGL, but also lets you select and launch mods, mission packs, and parameter options.
The port is solid, featuring automatic stack startup (NewStackSwap) which makes it convenient to launch from both Q2Launcher and the Shell.
Audio and gameplay hold up well even at low speeds, because mixing takes place in the SDL callback rather than in the game loop.
Software Rendering is recommended for those playing on Virtual Machines or natively in VESA mode.
