You seem to have Chromium working on AROS, which would mean that you have Skia working as well? Could you share the source/feedback on how to get it running? It would enable my other port I'm thinking of doing

Absolutely ... I've been getting a repo together to publish which will include all of my projects.

But skia is included in the chromium repo along with all of the patches to make it work.

If you have Skia there I might port Aseprite.

It's been a while since I posted anything new ...

So I decided ABIv1 needed printer support.

Cool, I've noticed a lot of other new features in ABIv1, including the mp3 datatypes!

iirc kalamatee did that almost 6 months ago. PhotoCraft was ported a few days to a week ago, Envoy was done in the last few weeks.

I personally have a fully working Electron port, a complete office suite, modern web browsing, stable SMP(for me right now). I committed the AMDGPU driver last week ... but honestly the foundation belongs to the work of kalamatee.

Is there a chance that these programs will also be released for abi1 on aarch64?

Yes … as far as I can tell Gutenprint itself should be okay for ports or
Contrib so that would be part of the nightly, chromium I have to put together a build server for, and node will work with almost any non platform specific npm program.

Photocraft is on v11, based on Kalamatee's v1 port but extended since I have broader Rust support, including Tokio, mmap, and a few other things (I will propose it to mainline soon). Just needs more testing and optimization (https://github.com/tomaszstaniak/rust-aros).

That's amazing!

And it opens the potential of porting all the ArtCraft applications to AROS!

I'm just amazed. Great work!!

Interesting ... it's a port from Mainline that Kalamatee did ... and we praise the secondary porter(not discounting anything however ignoring the foundational work sure as hell is discounting peoples work)? ... no wonder we can't keep developers

I didn't credit anyone or say anything about that. I just said it's amazing to see it's running on AROS.

Kalamatee has done a great job making it work for AROS. As far as I know PhotoCraft hasn't been around but for a short time. It's amazing that he did it so quickly! That's all.

There's no shortage of developers for AROS at the moment. Kalamatee has done an immense amount of work for AROS development. There's no doubt about that. Other developers are contributing as well.

Keeping a positive attitude and collaborating when possible will help keep developers around a little longer. Just my opinion, of course.

Kalamatee is an amazing developer, and his contributions to AROS will always be remembered as some of the most prolific in the community. For whatever reason, he chooses not to participate actively in the community (at least here), and honestly, I would rather see him spend his time developing for AROS if participating in the forums takes time away from that work.

Perhaps someone more familiar with his work could step in and highlight his accomplishments here more often, ensuring that his contributions receive the recognition they deserve.
