Say hi to Hardcode, a native AI agent for AROS, inspired by Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode.

Its CLI runs inside Limpet, with a full-screen interface, Markdown rendering and streaming replies. It focuses on coding and project work: reading, searching and editing files, running AmigaDOS commands, and asking for approval when needed. It also supports skills, reusable instructions for specific tasks and workflows.

The experimental build already supports parallel, read-only helper agents. I’ve demonstrated a lead delegating two tasks, receiving results and continuing after one helper was cancelled, using a real model served by LM Studio.

My goal goes beyond coding. The planned Zune GUI will combine everyday AI chat with agents that can work with files, tools and tasks on your system.

Anthropic and OpenAI-compatible backends are already implemented. Better provider selection, OpenRouter integration, model discovery, MCP connections to external tools and services, and installation through apkg are on the roadmap.

Still in development, but already doing real work on AROS.
