I don't think much intro is needed. One Laptop Per Child needed some software for its XO-1 laptop many years ago. Electronic Arts responded and opened the source code under two conditions: no Godzilla (to avoid a legal battle with the owners of the Godzilla trademark) and no SimCity name.

So the game was compiled and released under its original name: Micropolis.

And now it's made available directly for AROS x86_64.
