Ok,
I cant do it.
But i have the impression that an updated windows 10 doesnt made anything stop working, and also you dont need to format.

Is windows update task to do this regulary (as the mobile stores do in your phone)

But i will not insist if it is not your desire, but be aware that it is probably possible to update your win 10, and if it still complains about the hardware not support wsl it is just a registry hack to enable it.

Having the Development package included by default in an AROS distribution and being able to compile with extreme ease by simply opening a shell is a major advantage, as well as a reason to be curious enough to give it a try.

Self-hosting a native compiler on any other 32-bit platform (not only 68k) isn't something feasible nowadays that compilers require A LOT of RAM to work. You can try to update your systems to Windows 11 using RuFus to patch the ISO image on-the-fly to remove not needed requirements (TPM) that Microsoft imposes.

If it works (and it should work out: in the past I've upgraded even netbooks which natively had Windows 7) then you can check if all your applications and setting are functional.

If you're not satisfied, then you can always rollback to your previous Windows version as it was before the installation.

At least, you can give a try: Windows 11 deserves it, because WSL2 is a great tool to have if you want to use Linux without the hassle of having a virtual machine or dual boot.

Thanks, I wasn’t aware of this interesting procedure; when I have the time and a spare PC, I’ll install Windows 11.

that all sounds very interesting. I am currently updating and testing my 3.1 and Aros distribution but when I am ready with it, in august, I will test it and perhaps do a rebuild of my distribution based on it

another question... I had two problems with main branch before

network prefs crashed system. Propably related to recent changes to network stack

in contrib no regina and rexxmast build

both were showstopper for me to use it for my distribution

Olaf, the recent changes are an ongoing Team effort on many different parts of AROS. Seriously I can not answer your questions. But I think the devs are very busy and thankful for reporting that kind of bugs. Hopefully these things will get sorted out again in the near future.

Both AROS Build #10 and earlier versions, attached here by deadwood, and AROS 68k from aros.sourceforge.io work perfectly on WinUAE! See the screenshots!

You need to be careful with the ROMs – you cannot use the AROS 68k ROMs from deadwood on AROS 68k from aros.sourceforge.io, and vice versa.

Also, use them ‘clean’ – without any Amiga software!

short information. I have recreated my distribution based on experimental build. It boots and seem to work ok including all 3 desktops. Also nightly 68k from main branch boots again. Network preferences still crash the system.
