A more updated version of AmiTCP is available and it's open. I'm starting this thread for any potential interest in AROS, which currently still has an outdated TCP stack. Thanks to the active programmers who help us, I have been a user for many years.
Actually it would be great if you could test the nightly build from www.aros.org. If you get better transfer speeds with that build I would be a clear indication to me that either there are some improvements there in the newer codebase or that I made a mistake with synchronization of existing codebase. Either way we learn something.
Yes, Kalamatee made some improvements at the start of the year that give a huge improvement to transfer speeds over broadband in tests I did at the time. I haven't been following ABIv11 developments closely enough to know if they have been ported over already, but I hope to repeat the tests with ABIv11 soon.
In short, we've always had pretty good speeds over LAN, but speeds were often very slow over broadband until these improvements.
I read yesterday in the other thread about what Nick posted and the improvements to the stack, also with Windows and Linux, I don't have any problems even with Wi-Fi, with AROS unfortunately no.
Most likely they have not been ported yet (synchronization point is 2026-02-02). If you have time to investigate and these changes are isolated (can be applied on currect codebase without bring in the complete network stack overhaul/IPv6 work) I'd love to have them included prior to the release still (or I can do the porting if you can point me to the needed changes)

With AROS One 64-bit v11 Native on my old ACER Aspire 5920 laptop connected to the Internet
via an old cell phone using USB tethering, I’m getting a speed of 20.4 Mbps, which is a decent speed.
Surely, with an Ethernet connection or USB tethering using a modern cell phone,
the connection would be much faster.
If, as I’ve read, there have been developments to improve connection speed, it will certainly increase.
I repeat, I'm not a new user. I'll give an example: the only cloud service supported by OWB that I use for uploads gives me a maximum speed of an old 56k modem. It's different with other operating systems, but I use AROS because it helps me with my health problems. It seems bizarre, but that's how it is.
