Hi!
Since I'm new posting here, I thought I'd introduce myself a bit.
I'm a long time Commodore fan who always dreamed of having an Amiga. But never having had the chance to have the original hardware, this year I dug out an old netbook out of the closet and decided that it was the year that I would finally have something that resembles an Amiga. So, I came here for help and to offer suggestions on how to improve the project with possibly minimal effort from the creator's part.
While I have training as a designer and have tinkered with computers all my life, I know very little in terms of programming.
So, I hope you will be patient with my enthusiastic but sometimes misguided steps.
There are several distributions of Aros, the most popular being Aros One, and then there is Tiny Aros. The most up-to-date browser is found on the 64-bit branch. Most games are 32-bit, but you must have a video card supported by the GL engine. You can ask anything here.

Welcome to world of AROS!
We are happy to have you among us. We are a small group but we are a good bunch and are happy to have you with us. I hope you'll enjoy AROS and its new development with so many exciting things happening. Ask away, sift through the forums, participate, don't be shy, and you don't need to be necessarily a programmer to help. You mentioned you have training as a desiger right? Well, Operating Systems are not just code
Welcome again!

Thanks!
So far, just the thought of rescuing that old 32 bit netbook is getting me all pumped-up. Especially since for some reason the lightness of Aros is giving it battery life I thought it never had. On Win XP, it used to need to be kept plugged-in in order to work. When I installed Aros on it, I didn't notice that I had forgotten to switch on the power bar and did everything on the battery with plenty of power to spare. Now, to me this is a definite win.
