Z Buffer Files:

Z Buffers can be pre-loaded into WCS before rendering. A directory
(it can be anywhere on the system and have any name) should be designated
in the "Settings Editor" window, "Pre-Processing" page.

If there are any numbers in the file names, they must correspond with the
frames to be rendered. If there are two numbers or more in the name
(e.g. "MyImage1.27.zbuf") only the last number must match frame numbers.
In the example here the file would only be used for frame 27. The frame
number can be padded with zeros.

A Z buffer file can be output along with any rendered image. It can be
in 8 bit format (gray scale) for loading into a paint program as a Raw Gray
or IFF image or it can be saved as a four byte, floating point array or in
the IFF ZBUF/ZBOD format. Either floating point format may be used
for importing to the WCS renderer to a background image. One format can be
converted to the other in the "Data Ops" module, "Convert DEM" function.
In addition you can scale Z buffers to transform them from one set of
 render parameters to another.
