Hallo @magorium,

I cannot get to aros-exec any longer, because the Protector dont let me in anymore...
When the blocking time is over, Protector generates a new one.....

We had a thread "Version to Comment" on aros-exec.org:

Additional I tested V2V 1.0 / V2C 1.1 on DH1Grinisk.info...

V2V draws a point (.) into the comment-field
V2C casts a GURU:
Programmfailure
Task: 0x02575FC0
Error: 0x80000008 - Privilege violation error
PC: x4040816

Thanks Ga-Venga.

Having taken a closer look, i am not going to mess with that code (it is messy enough of itself :D ) . I'll try implement my own solution, but that's something for the somewhat longer run as i am currently working on some other projects.

Alternatively (in case you can't hold your breath ;) ) you can achieve the same goal by some scripting magic. There is the version command as well as a command to set the comment (the name escapes me atm :o ).

Thanks magorium,

it is not in a hurry, maybe I download the aros sdk after christmas and
try to compile some solutions with sourcecode from the aminet
as in good old AMIGA times ;-)

Ah, in case you are capable of cooking up some code yourself, then please be my guest :)

fwiw: if you have icaros installed (the dvd version wand selected to install all or in case you selected development package manually) then things are already in place :D

At least it let's you compile using the gcc compiler natively.

On a hosted you install hosted and can download a nighlty and copy the development directory (to replace the one on your hosted install) to get things going.

Setting up a cross-compiler is a bit more work, and how to do that depends on your platform.

of course, how could i forget.

I always think of it as being a comment to a file, but i knew there isn't a filecomment command :D

Thanks cavemann
