Re: ApolloOS
I have tested Apollo OS a bit more, it is a mix AROS and OS3 which at the moment unstable and poorly configured.
Amiwell, I think the best choice for your V4 at the moment is either OS3.9 RTG + AfA OS or "native" AROS 68k
To install these systems on V4 the best choice is to connect the CF on WinUAE and with HDToolBox initialize and format it as you normally do with an HD, of course you have to use an updated HDToolBox and choose a good Filesystem (SFS/PFS), best choice the one of OS 3.9 BB4
You can also install these systems on a HardFile initialized and installed on WinUAE, having done this you will just "burn" the Hardfile (renamed.img) to the CF.
Of course to have maximum compatibility on V4, you have to add the Monitor file "SAGA" and add some native V4 commands in the startup-sequence (you can find these commands on Coffin) and corrected Roms/Kickstart.

Responded in ApolloOS

Re: AROS ABIv0 20201110
I reported the Guru to the developer who responded to me saying:
[i]Looks like the fault is in a buggy libopengl. In a recent aros built this seems excluded (because it's buggy ?).
Can't do too much here, except remove vwebp from the archive.

I updated on Aros One the "WebPTools" to the new version 1.3.1 released today on Aminet, all binaries work fine except one "vwebp" where I get a Guru, see screnshot.
Also the previous version 1.3.0 hadvail command "vwebp" which went into lo Guru.Responded in AROS ABIv0 20201110

Re: ApolloOS
What version ? can you provide the download link !
ApolloOS to make it work on WinUAE you need some modifications and disable Hardware Vampire related commands.
the ApolloOS "IMG" image includes two SFS formatted partitions, DH0 of 251 MB and DH1 of 7GB, see my screenshot !
In case of problems or partition changes, this can be done safely, with speed and security with HDToolBox on WinUAE, of course you must have a good Amiga RTG system ! I used AfA One !

The AROS Curved Blue Theme is almost complete.
When the 4 blue templates (blue prototypes) in this series are complete they will be uploaded to AROS Archives.

Hi All,
The new release is now completed and can be downloaded from:
https://github.com/deadw00d/AROS/releases/tag/ABIv11_20230430-1
https://axrt.org/downloads-aros
Below you will find final change log. Thank you everyone who tested this version. Enjoy using this release :)
I also prepared another alpha ISO, this time combining core system with contrib programs, including C and C++ compiler: https://axrt.org/development/aros-pc-x86_64-alpha-6.zip

- possible NVME crash on some hardware, add 'NVME=disable' to grub command line as a workaround
- if you experience issues booting, try adding 'noacpi' or 'noioapic' to grub command line

Re: AxRuntime
Release v41.4 of AxRuntime is now available. Main feature is that interacting with Intuition windows (moving, resizing, etc) now happens via Intuition gadgets and there is no longer window decoration duplication. Re: AxRuntime
Hello,
I wanted to share with you something I've been working on for some time. The project is called AxRuntime and it allows re-compiling existing Amiga/MorphOS/AROS software as Linux applications.
The runtime allows developers to continue developing Amiga applications in unmodified way while at the same time being able to utilize modern development tools available on Linux like IDEs, debuggers, profilers, etc.
This solution lets developers compile their Amiga API-based applications as Linux binaries. Once the features are implemented, tested and optimized using the runtime on Linux, developers re-compile their applications for their Amiga-like system of choice and perform final quality checking.
Applications created with AxRuntime can be distributed to the Linux community giving developers a much broader user base and a possibility to invite developers from outside general Amiga community to contribute to the application.
Here are some videos of AROS applications running under Linux:

Re: Development Plan
A short update from me on the plan (20230505):
1) Synchronize code bases between repositories and release new version of ABIv11 [DONE]
2) Release first stable version of IntuitionWM
3) Release new version of ABIv0 refreshed to newer common codebase
The work on IntuitionWM will mostly likely start somewhere in May.
The long term horizon remains unchanged:
"On a longer horizon, there will be a lot of work related to ABIv0 and AxRuntime. I want to update ABIv0 to be based on latest ABIv11 source code. This will be an enabler to:
1) develop a version of AxRuntime that is capable of running ABIv0 32-bit programs on top of Linux and
2) develop an emulator that will allow running AROS 32-bit programs under 64-bit AROS.
Once all these things are in place, we will have a Linux-native desktop (Scalos) and ability to run AROS ABIv0 programs (32-bit), AROS ABIv11 programs (64-bit) and AxRuntime-recompiled programs (64-bit). This way existing distributions could be re-created using Linux as a base without loosing existing functionality for users, enabling a gradual migration from 32-bit to 64-bit.
For people preferring native AROS we will also have ability to use ~80% of the existing software base on 64-bit AROS, which then is an enabler to transition to 64-bit base system."Responded in Development Plan
