Distribution: AspireOS 1.89 (update)Print

AspireOSNikolaos Tomatsidis has updated his AspireOS distribution to version 1.89.

However, due to technical issues, Nikolaos decided to change the distribution of this update (and future updates) a little.

Instead of releasing a complete update-package, people who wish to update, have to use a special utility called Up2Date in order to update their AspireOS distribution.

That also means that it is not possible anymore to update your AspireOS distribution offline. The Up2Date utility updates your AspireOS distribution via an internet connection.

It is Nikolaos' intention to provide offline update-packages (and make them available on his AspireOS website) when there is need for it.

Also, prior to this change of updating, Nikolaos had also put a lot of effort in an updated Games Package (version 1.1) for AspireOS.

So if you are new to ApireOS then you need to download at least ApireOS 1.85 (install it) and the Up2Date Utility (also install it), and if you wish to have some games to play with you need to download the game-package as well.

Users that already have installed AspireOS 1.85 or higher need to use the Up2Date utility in order to upgrade their existing AspireOS installation.

Download: AspireOS 1.85 Full (142 MB, Complete ApireOS 1.85 live-cd)
Download: AspireOS Up2Date utility (8 KB, Utility that updates ApireOS via internet to the latest version 1.89)
Download: AspireOS GamePackage 1.1 (144 MB, complete updated game package for AspireOS)

More information about these updates and ApireOS in general can be found on the AspireOS homepage
