Distribution: Aros ORCA m68k 1.0.2 (German)Print

Aros ORCASun68 released version 1.0.2 of his ORCA-distribution and uploaded it to aminet for us.

ORCA is another great Aros distribution for classic Amiga computers. It's lean, fast and contains all the basic needs and supplies a nice base for people who like to extend their installation in their own way.

ORCA is distributed as a complete package, including an AROS-iso, AROS kickstarts and an Amiga emulator for Windows (including configurations). Underneath it's hood ORCA has an extensive set of libraries, datatypes and compressors but also provides basic software like a filemanager, texteditor, internetbrowsers and some nice (whdload)games/demos/intros.

In this updated package several issues were addressed and some functionality was disabled such as the picture.datatype and reko.datatype. A new wbmp.datatype was added as well as the libraries delfina and concertio. Some MUI classes were added as well as some networkdrivers. DeathStar megademo was added as WHDLoad as well as several cracktro's. For a complete list of changes see the readme.

Hopefully the TODO list will be completed soon, so that we can enjoy having an official website for this ORCA distribution.

Although ORCA is initially aimed towards German speaking users, it is ofcourse no problem at all to change the preselected German into your preferred (and by AROS supported) language.

Please be aware that AROS (and especially AROS-m68k) is still in alpha-stage and as such things might not work as expected. It is advisable to use an Amiga emulator.
