Emulator: FS-UAE 2.2.0

FS-UAEFrode Solheim worked very hard to be able to announce version 2.2.0 of FS-UAE, which is now publicly available for download.

FS-UAE is an Amiga Emulator based on Toni Wilen's UAE-core, and uses a modern and sophisticated approach to present itself. FS-UAE supports online play and an on-screen GUI which is controllable with keyboard and gamepad controllers.

In this updated version from version 2.0 so many things where updated, improved, bugfixed and more that we advise to read the releasenotes.

Please remember that in order to emulate a classic Amiga it requires a copy of an original kickstart that is owned by you. Using the Aros kickstarts circumvents this limitation.

It is indeed a very nice emulator.

Admittingly, i even sometimes prefer it above winuae. It is so easy to set up this emulator.

Winua is ofcourse the better choice (if you are on windows that is) with all its options, but sometimes i just want to lean back and enjoy without too much hassle.

Thanks for your rating emeck Smile

Unfortunately my old desktop computer can't run some Amiga games smoothly with WinUAE. And I'm using Icaros more and more with it. But emulation was very slow with Janus-UAE.

I'll give it a try again and compare with FS-UAE/WinUAE in the same machine, FS-UAE in my Debian machine and post some results.

Would be interresting to see those results.

Janus is also a bit slow for me on my current machines.

tbh it is really a shame to see that even a really fast up-to-date x86 machine still has problems with displaying some good old amiga-demo's that bang things to the max
